Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.

We had another positive staff case at Villa St. Joseph on September 4.  The good news is that the person had tested negative on August 30 and hadn’t worked in the building since August 31 and tested the moment they arrived for work on September 4.  The person doesn’t appear to have had contact with our last case and didn’t have contact with any residents since August 31 so we do not believe there was an exposure.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 2 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 103 resident and staff cases.  Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 1 case. Marymount Place has 2 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 13 resident/staff cases.

COVID cases continue to remain in the vicinity of 6,000 during this weekend. Now 52% of Ohioans have at least completed the first dose of the vaccine. Cuyahoga county positivity has climbed from a low off .9% in July to 5.9% this last reporting period. I mention this because in addition to outbreak a county positivity of 10% or more can also close visitation at Villa St Joseph.  Marymount Place residents can receive visits.

A reminder to staff that gown, face shields and N95s need to be worn in all short-term resident areas.  We will also be testing all residents and staff on September 7 and have a second round of testing on September 9 for unvaccinated staff.

As you enjoy the last parts of summer, remember the “three W’s” … wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance as you socialize with family and friends this weekend. Thank you!
