Hello Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had 3 Villa St. Joseph staff members test positive for COVID in the last 24 hours. We are fairly certain that all are from outside exposures since all 3 of them had members of their households who had recently had COVID.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 7 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 225 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 1 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 15 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 41 resident/staff cases. The good news is none of the cases seems to be related.
Villa St. Joseph and Marymount Place remain in outbreak mode. Staff must continue to test each week. All Marymount Place and Villa St. Joseph staff must be in N95 masks and face shields while in the building.
Many of the cases we are hearing about are related to back to school. Please be careful and when you can, distance and wash hands or hand sanitize…and if you can, wear a mask.
We ask family and friends to make sure you are being truthful regarding signs and symptoms and exposures when you sign in. If you or someone in your household tests positive after visiting one of residents, then please call us and let us know so we can monitor your loved one and others. Although, for most people COVID is nothing more than cold or mild flu symptoms, for some it makes them very sick and for the elderly and those with significant health issues it can cause hospitalization or death — just as the flu and pneumonia does.
Please consider getting fully vaccinated, including the booster shots. These vaccines truly are your best defense against COVID.
Enjoy the remainder of Labor Day weekend.
