Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends and Staff. This is Sue Nall Executive Director.
This week the CDC is recommending some vaccinated people, in certain areas of the country, wear masks indoors once again. This latest directive marks a decisive “about face” from the CDC’s stance in May when it announced vaccinated people no longer needed to wear masks in most indoor places.
So far, Ohio and Cuyahoga County are not among those included in the CDC’s latest recommendation. The CDC considers a county to have high transmission if there are one hundred or more COVID cases per 100,000 residents — or a test positivity rate of 10% or higher in the past seven days.
According to the latest CDC county-level update, nearly 44% of U.S. counties fall into this category. Cuyahoga County is not among them as of right now.
One thing is certain: the Delta variant is real, and spreads quickly. It is highly transmissible to disease like chicken pox. Health officials believe the Delta variant will peak sometime in October.
We continue to have no new cases in our facility. Unvaccinated staff must continue to be tested twice a week. Vaccinated staff do not need to be tested at this time. Please continue to wash your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance. We all understand that taking these steps can be an inconvenience but consider the alternative. No one wants to get – and deal with the effects of COVID.
Prevent the spread of COVID and its variant by getting vaccinated. For staff members, our next vaccine clinic Tuesday, August 10. Limited doses will be available August 2. Please submit proper paperwork prior to receiving the vaccine.
The easiest way to get vaccinated is to sign up at GETTHESHOT.com. It takes just a few moments to find a vaccine site near your home. Stay safe and thank you for your continued patience with staff.
