Good afternoon, Village at Marymount Residents, Families, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the executive director.
I have sobering news to report today. We had 7 COVID-positive cases at Villa St. Joseph from midnight through this afternoon’s testing. All those who tested positive are experiencing cold-like symptoms. All residents and staff will be carefully monitored for any signs and symptoms of COVID. They will be tested according to outbreak protocols and if they display any signs and symptoms of COVID.
Today we tested all Villa St. Joseph residents on the first and second floors … and all Marymount Place residents. We did not test our Memory Care Unit residents because we have had no known exposures in that area.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 9 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 196 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. Marymount Place has 3 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 34 resident/staff cases.
Villa St. Joseph and Marymount Place remain in outbreak mode. All staff must test weekly for COVID; once if you are up to date with vaccines and boosters and twice weekly if you have an exemption or are not current with vaccine status. All staff must sign in and screen for symptoms daily. They must continue to wear N95 masks and face shields when in the building.
For staff, please re-enforce with residents the need to wear masks with visitors. Residents also must wear a mask if leaving their rooms for any reason.
Our next vaccine clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on June 7. Please turn in your form this week if you plan to receive the second booster. Let’s continue to be diligent in this latest COVID uprising. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. Stay safe everyone!
