Hello Village at Marymount Family & Friends. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We tested all staff on Monday and so far, we have not received any new cases of the virus. Here’s hoping Thursday’s testing goes equally smooth and we can continue to see light at the end of the tunnel.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has (2) Active Staff Cases and no (0) Active Resident Cases. We have a total of 91 resident and staff cases at Villa St. Joseph and (0) Active Staff case and (0) resident cases in the Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St. Joseph and a cumulative total of one (1) case. Marymount Place has no Active Resident or staff cases — and a cumulative total of 11 resident/staff cases.
Vaccines to prevent COVID offer the best hope for ending the pandemic. Which brings me to a question I hear often: Is asking someone about their vaccination status a HIPAA violation?
The answer is no because the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act doesn’t apply here. The act prevents a third party (like a doctor or an insurance company) from giving your private health information without your permission.
Once again, I strongly urge you to get the vaccine now that it’s available to most adults and children. To further incentivize getting the vaccine, Gov. DeWine’s Vax-a-Million campaign is making a significant impact on the number people getting vaccinated.
This is all good news as we head toward the Governor’s June 2 target date to rescind all COVID-19 related health orders. The exception are those orders relating to congregate living centers and nursing homes like ours.
We continue to welcome you back into our facility … and we’re glad to see each of you! Please continue to visit in a safe manner and be patient and courteous with staff. We all want your visits to be pleasant, enjoyable, and memorable.
Please call me with policy or visitation questions. Thank you!
