Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had a Marymount Place staff member test positive for COVID on May 16. As a result, we tested all Marymount Place residents and no other positive cases were found.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 1 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 187 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. Marymount Place has 2 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 32 resident/staff cases.
Given the May 16 positive case, as well as those I reported last week at Villa St. Joseph, all staff will continue to wear N95 masks and face shields and must test weekly until further notice. Those staff members who have exemptions or are not fully vaccinated or up to date need to test twice weekly.
Here’s my commercial for answering the COVID questions when you arrive for a visit: PLEASE be truthful when answering these important COVID questions asked of you upon arrival. These questions are designed to keep our residents, staff, and YOU, our visitors, safe and healthy during your visit. Continue to sign in with the receptionist or supervisor so you can safely enjoy your time with us.
Last Thursday the Ohio Department of Health reported nearly 16,000 new coronavirus cases for the past week. Ohio’s numbers are consistent with increases in COVID cases that other states are also experiencing. Hospitalizations in Ohio are showing a steady increase as well.
These trends are reminders that COVID remains a very real threat. Please keep this in mind as you’re actively socializing with family and friends as the warming temperatures make it conducive to gather for cookouts, graduation parties, etc.
It may not be the “in” thing to do, but it is still important to wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance when you are around others.
Thank you. Stay safe everyone!
