Good afternoon, Village at Marymount Family, Friends and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
Today we received a positive confirmation on a PCR test from earlier this week of an administrative staff member who had an exposure to COVID to someone at home. A PCR test detects genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus. We completed contact tracing and this person did not have any resident contact 2 days prior to being positive and the staff they may have had contact with are testing and will continue to monitor for symptoms and test.
We also had a dietary department staff member test positive this morning. We are awaiting this person’s PCR test. The good news is this person works in the kitchen and had no direct contact or interaction with residents. At this point we are hoping this person’s result may be a false positive as they have no symptoms.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 2 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 187 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 30 resident/staff cases.
Given today’s events, all staff at Villa St. Joseph will continue to be in N95 masks and face shields and must test weekly until further notice. Those that have exemptions or are not fully vaccinated or up to date need to test 2x/week. We ask all of you to continue practicing the three W’s … wash your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance. It’s clear COVID remains a threat as we approach the end of spring and the beginning of summer.
A reminder to please be truthful when answering the COVID questions asked when you arrive for a visit. Continue to sign in with the receptionist or supervisor so you can safely enjoy your visit.
Thank you. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend everyone!
