Good afternoon, Village at Marymount Residents, Families, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.

Today we were notified of a PRN staff member at Marymount Place who tested positive for COVID. The good news is this person tested negative the last time they were on campus this week – and symptoms were discovered while away from campus. More good news: this person was exposed to a limited number of residents. We tested those residents today and all were negative.

We’re keeping an eye on the Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1. When it arrived on the scene, the Omicron variant was the most transmissible version of COVID-19 to date. The virus appears to have mutated, and the new variant is being called the next generation of Omicron. People who were sick with the Omicron variant earlier in the year can become sick again with the new variant.

We’ve been celebrating our staff during Nursing Home Week. A big Shout Out to Brenda Milanczuk and her HR team for preparing a week of fun events, which included a cookout for staff today. An equally big Shout Out to VSJ Administrator Dan Storey for manning the grill.

We’re also celebrating our award-winning nursing team, as this is National Nurses Week. Thank you to our nurses for all you do for residents. You are invaluable to our Mission!

Stay safe everyone!
