Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall, the Executive Director.

Spring finally has sprung! Unfortunately, it hasn’t magically made COVID disappear. At least not yet anyway.

Yesterday we had a Marymount Place resident test positive. This person had been quarantining due to contact with someone outside the facility who was positive. Today we had a Marymount Place resident related to a person who was also quarantining and tested positive. There is one more person at Marymount Place also quarantining and we are hopeful this person does not end up testing positive. Minimal additional testing will occur due to prompt notification and our ability to quarantine these individuals. We also had a staff member at Villa St Joseph test positive, but this person hasn’t worked since last week. We are currently completing contract tracing but don’t believe we will need to do any additional testing.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 11 Active resident and staff cases. We had a total of 287 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident and Staff cases and a cumulative total of 23 cases. Marymount Place has 2 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 66 resident/staff cases.

Today we tested residents in the Memory Care Unit and had no new positive cases. On Wednesday we will test Marymount Place residents, as well as residents on the second floor Continuing Care Unit and Clare Hall at Villa St Joseph.

Marymount Place, Clare Hall, and second floor CCU staff must be wearing N95 masks and face shields. This mandate also applies to any staff working or walking through these areas. Full PPE is required for staff and visitors working with or visiting a COVID positive resident. This means gowns, N95 mask, and face shield. First floor SCU staff will continue to wear surgical masks along with MCU staff.

This month we are celebrating National Social Work Month and National Nutrition Month. Thank you to our social workers, Val Bohnak, Dave Hathaway, and Elaine Foster-Griggs, and dieticians, Karen Baker and Marissa Cora, for all you do for our residents.
