Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director. Because there is so much important information to share, I will be making to calls to share all the necessary information.

We had 3 positive cases so far today – 2 at Villa St. Joseph- of that will count both in the Nursing Facility and Memory Care Assisted Living and 1 at Marymount Place. As a result, we are testing all staff going forward.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 10 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 125 resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 1 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 3 cases. Marymount Place has 4 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 22 resident/staff cases.

We have some updates regarding visitation reminders.  Visits will continue to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. All visits to Marymount Place residents must take place in their rooms and cannot be in common areas. Masks must be worn during visits regardless of vaccination status for all visits on campus. If you have a face shield we ask that you wear this too. If you have any symptoms, even something as little as dizziness, a runny or stuffy nose, then please don’t visit. The symptoms of Omicron can be very different than the COVID symptoms we have traditional seen.

Villa St. Joseph resident families … we ask only two people visit per day. We do not want visitors coming and going multiple times throughout the day. Once here, please stay for the duration of the visit. We would like you to let us know you are visiting by calling our receptionist at 216-332-1100. We ask that the resident’s responsible party communicate our visiting guidelines to family and friends. We will continue to offer compassion care visits as always.

We are discouraging residents from leaving the facility for Christmas visits. Marymount Place families can contact either Chris Meinke or Maribeth Hejlik if they have a specific situation to discuss. Villa St. Joseph families can contact myself, Dan Storey, Peggy Jakabcic, or Mark Schwind to discuss any potential leaves from the facility. Please understand that Omicron is so prevalent in the community and there are so many cases we are trying to protect our residents here in the facility and our staff so we can continue to provide care.

Daily Mass is on hold until further notice. Sister Mary Alice is re-evaluating what forms of Mass or prayer services we can safely offer. We do have a system to still offer communion in a contact-free manner to our residents.  Residents gathering for activities will be kept 6 feet apart from each other. Masks will be worn are being worn.

I realize these revisions are difficult to hear. But we must be vigilant in keeping our residents and staff as safe as possible. I will keep you updated with the latest information throughout the holidays. Thank you!
