Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had 4 new COVID cases at Marymount Place today after testing all residents and some staff. No Villa St Joseph residents needed to be tested at this time.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 3 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 251 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 20 cases. Marymount Place has 6 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 57 resident/staff cases.
Marymount Place staff must continue to wear N95 masks and face shields at this time. Marymount Place residents also need to wear a mask when out of their rooms. Some of our current cases are due to residents in close proximity to each other and not wearing masks. As I mentioned earlier this week, visitors for both Marymount Place and Villa St Joseph are not to be visiting in common areas. Visitors should not be eating with residents. They should do their best to social distance when possible.
Villa St. Joseph staff is back to wearing surgical masks. A reminder that SCU residents must wear a mask if they are outside of their room. If residents cannot tolerate wearing a mask, they must remain in their rooms.
Please do not visit if you have cold or flu-like symptoms such as aches, fever, chills, congestion, or a cough. These symptoms can be signs of COVID, flu, or RSV. We don’t want anyone to be sick or in quarantine from any of these viruses!
We are all working hard to do our best to keep residents and staff from getting COVID during the holidays. We don’t want to quarantine residents for another Christmas or New Year’s Eve.
Thank you for your understanding – and remember to wash hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance in social settings. We are taking these proactive steps to ensure everyone has a joyous holiday and celebrates responsibly.
