Hello Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.

Yesterday we had a Villa St. Joseph staff member test positive for COVID while at home. Contact tracing shows this person only interacted with another staff member and no residents.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 1 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 238 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 19 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 41 resident/staff cases.

Last week I mentioned the CDC made dramatic revisions that will greatly impact the way we evaluate COVID and process our information. For starters, we are asking staff to continue temperature taking and sign in upon arriving to work.

Part of the CDC changes impact COVID testing. We no longer will routinely test staff regardless of vaccination status. Vaccinated Village at Marymount staff only need to wear a surgical mask. Unvaccinated staff must wear eyewear and a surgical mask.

Our goal is not to test throughout the building if we do not have a reason to do so. We will use contact tracing to determine the course of action should we have a positive case. We will not place residents in quarantine protocols. As a facility, we have the discretion to modify the regulations accordingly in the event of a positive case.

I fully expect to see a decline in COVID numbers now that testing requirements have been drastically limited. These modifications indicate a move toward normalcy after nearly three years under the grasp of COVID. Please continue to be cautious when in large group settings.
