Hello Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.

Unfortunately, we need to make you aware of a COVID outbreak at Marymount Place, our assisted living. On October 13 we had a resident test positive, followed by 3 other positive resident cases. This morning we tested all residents and had an additional 2 residents test positive, along with 1 staff member at Marymount Place.  These positive cases give us a total of 7 cases at this point. We will be following the new outbreak testing guidelines and testing Marymount Place residents and staff on October 16 and October 18.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 0 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 238 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 19 cases. Marymount Place has 7 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 48 resident/staff cases.

For our Marymount Place visitors, we ask that you wear masks in all areas of the building, including during your visits at this time. We believe that many of the residents were together with those that have tested positive during the last 2 days. We have canceled group activities at this time and will re-evaluate activities at the beginning of next week. We will minimize movement of residents and staff between Villa St. Joseph and Marymount Place. All Marymount Place staff and all campus staff with vaccine exemptions are to be in N95s and faces shields at this time. Marymount Place staff will also be testing regularly.

Although Cuyahoga County is seeing a decline in cases, as the country continues to roll back COVID precautions and decrease testing, we can expect to continue to see outbreaks like the one at Marymount Place with multiple residents or staff ending up COVID positive.

We do have another COVID vaccine clinic next Thursday, October 20th.  Forms are due by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18th.  There are forms at the receptionist desk for residents or staff are interested in the COVID vaccine to complete.  We will also be giving flu vaccines for residents next week and then staff the following week.
