Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We continue to have some success keeping COVID out of the building as we had no positive resident or staff cases during Monday’s testing. Residents and staff who are unvaccinated will be tested again today and tomorrow. We are NO longer in outbreak at either Marymount Place or Villa St Joseph. Visitation currently remains open.
Cuyahoga County had 4,400 new COVID cases this week, about 1,000 less than last week. We’re trending in the right direction!
I’ve received questions about the vaccine booster shot. The FDA approved booster shots for certain individuals who received the Pfizer vaccine. The FDA has not yet approved a booster for Moderna or Johnson & Johnson, so this is just for those who got Pfizer. Luckily the immunity from Moderna does not wane as fast as the Pfizer, the FDA says.
While I’m talking about vaccines, it’s time to consider getting the flu shot. Residents and staff started to receive their flu shots this week. For staff, flu shots will be offered during COVID testing again during testing on Monday, Oct. 18. Remember, there’s no waiting period to get your flu shot before or after your COVID vaccination or booster.
Staff receiving the flu shot in the community must bring us a copy of their paperwork so we can include in your health information record.
Staff eligible to receive the booster can do so from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20 or Thursday, Oct. 21 between 10 a.m. and noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Consent forms are due to my office this Friday. You will need your original vaccination card before you get the booster shot. Forms are at the front desk at Villa St. Joseph.
Thank you for your continued patience as we work diligently to keep our residents and staff as safe as possible!
