Good afternoon, Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had 3 new Villa St. Joseph COVID cases in the last day.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 21 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 177 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 3 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 30 resident/staff cases.
We are quickly approaching the January 27th date for staff to receive the 1st dose dose of the COVID vaccine. Full vaccination is required by February 28. If you are more than 6 months from your 2nd dose of the covid you need to receive your booster, otherwise you risk being quarantined for 5 days should you be exposed.
Some staff reminders: we will hold a vaccine clinic on Monday, January 24 starting at 11a. Your consent forms were due this afternoon.
Staff are required to test once a week if vaccinated and twice per week if unvaccinated. PRN and agency staff must test prior to each shift. Finally, the Clare Hall entrance is closed. Please do not use the stairs or elevator leading to Clare Hall unless you are working on the unit.
Speaking of Clare Hall, Monday’s move of residents to our restaged COVID unit there went well. Residents are settling in and adjusting to their new rooms.
Some news you can use: the CDC recently updated its guidance on masks. The CDC says N95 masks give better protection than cloth ones. They stopped short of recommending people wear only N95 masks. The CDC said well-fitting disposable surgical or KN95 masks offer more protection.
Whichever mask you choose, please wear it properly. Handwashing and watching your distance are also ways you can help to prevent the spread of COVID along with getting fully vaccinated and boostered.
Thanks to a generous donor, staff were treated to lunch yesterday for their hard work and dedication during Monday’s snowstorm. Lunch was catered by Gallucci’s Italian Foods. Stay safe everyone!
