Good evening, Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had 3 new Villa St. Joseph COVID cases today. We will be conducting additional testing at Villa St. Joseph at the end of the week.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 13 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We had a total of 164 resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 3 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 13 cases. This afternoon the Supreme Court upheld the vaccine mandate. The Court ruled the requirement for staff at all nursing homes and other federally funded healthcare facilities can proceed.
In a memo guiding compliance in 25 states not covered by the injunction, CMS laid out new deadlines and targets for the mandate. Workers must have at least one shot by January 27, and a second shot (if applicable) by February 28.
For staff, we have a vaccine clinic planned for January 24. We will reach out to those who need to sign up for the vaccine. We will get your consent forms to the pharmacy as soon as possible. Everyone will need a Vaccine Checklist and one of the consent forms.
I’d like to Shout Out the hard work of our therapy team. Jen Shuster is helping the Admissions Department with resident registrations … John DeMarco is assisting with patient transfers … and Liz Lesko is lending a hand with nursing and in the kitchen. Our therapy team truly embodies the Franciscan spirit and our core mission values of Compassion, Competence, and the Celebration of Life.
Watch my updates on our website for the latest information on visitations. Please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance when socializing. Thank you everyone!
