Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had a Villa St. Joseph resident test positive for COVID yesterday on the Skilled Care Unit. We conducted contact tracing and identified the limited number of people who interacted with this resident. As a result, today we tested residents and staff on SCU’s second middle hall. The good news is that we had no new cases! We will retest these same individuals on Saturday.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 1 Active resident and staff Cases. We had a total of 266 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident and Staff cases and a cumulative total of 22 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 62 resident/staff cases.
A reminder to SCU staff: full PPE is required for this COVID-positive resident. The rest of SCU will remain in N95 masks and face shields until further notice. Staff working on the other Villa St. Joseph units and Marymount Place must be in eyewear and a surgical mask. Eyewear is required in these areas due to Cuyahoga County still being in red for transmission.
COVID continues to have a presence on our campus. Marymount Hospital currently has 9 COVID patients including 3 in the ICU. Although we are slowly coming out of our COVID cases, we still want residents at Marymount Place and Villa St. Joseph’s SCU to continue wearing masks outside of their room. A reminder to visitors: if you or a family member are not feeling well, then we ask that you refrain from visiting. We want to do all we can to limit our residents to any possible exposure to COVID.
Finally, please remember to practice the 3Ws – wash and sanitize your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance in social settings. Stay safe everyone!
