Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had a new COVID-positive staff case today. The good news is this staff member has been working from home and was not around residents. As a result, there is no need to test residents or staff.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 8 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 250 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 20 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 51 resident/staff cases.
A reminder that SCU residents must wear a mask if they are outside of their room. Residents must be told that if they cannot tolerate wearing a mask, then they must remain in their rooms. All staff must wear an N95 mask and face shield when on SCU.
Our infectious disease physician says Marymount Hospital has 12 COVID cases, including one in the intensive care unit. While he said there isn’t a huge uptick in COVID numbers, Cuyahoga County numbers have slightly increased.
The current CDC map show Cuyahoga County, and many counties in Northeast Ohio, continue to be yellow, which means there is moderate COVID spread.
With another weekend upon us, I’m sure many of you will be gathering with family and friends at holiday parties. Please remember to practice the three Ws – wash your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance. These practices are even more important as cases of the flu continue to rise.
A final reminder that given our COVID status, and the flu running rampant, we’re asking no visitors attend Saturday Mass or activities at this time. We are discouraging visits in all dining rooms. We have other locations in the building where you can gather. The receptionists can direct you to these areas.
Thank you … and stay safe!
