Hello Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had a staff member test positive for COVID today. We were aware that this person may have had an exposure away from our campus, so they had been testing daily for COVID. This person was wearing proper protective equipment at all times while interacting with residents prior to the positive test.
To be safe, we tested all of Memory Care Unit residents, as this person was interacting with some of them. I’m happy to report no MCU resident tested positive for COVID today – that’s a great thing!
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 7 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 218 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. Marymount Place has 1 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 40 resident/staff cases. The good news is none of the cases seem to be related.
Our Memory Care Unit staff joins our first floor SCU, second floor CCU, and Marymount staff and must wear N95 masks and face shields at all times. These areas remain in outbreak mode.
We’re just 4 weeks away from our 13th annual Celebration of Life Gala! It’s been 3 years since we’ve hosted an in-person event. The Gala is Friday, September 23 at Embassy Suites in Independence.
We are celebrating the 15th anniversary of Villa St. Joseph. We also will honor our 2020, 2021, and 2022 Wall of Distinction inductees. The Gala is a fun event. Visit our website to purchase tickets, sponsorships, or to donate an item to the auction. For staff who would like to volunteer – please call 216-332-1751 for details.
Be sure to practice the 3Ws – wash your hands, wearing a mask when in large groups, and wash your hands. Enjoy the weekend and stay safe everyone!
