Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
All of us want to be done with COVID, but COVID doesn’t want to be done with us. Not yet anyway. On September 7 we had another positive staff case at Villa St. Joseph.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 3 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 104 resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 1 case. Marymount Place has 2 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 13 resident/staff cases.
The COVID numbers continue to be concerning. They have been on the rise in most states and the seven-day average of new cases on Monday was more than 300% higher than Labor Day of last year, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Children now represent more than a quarter — or 26.8% — of weekly COVID cases nationwide. President Biden is scheduled to deliver a major address on September 9 on the next phase of his pandemic response.
We have a second round of testing on September 9 for unvaccinated staff. I will continue to keep you updated with the very latest information about COVID – both in our buildings and in Cuyahoga County.
A reminder to staff to please wear a mask and face shield if you are walking through Marymount Place. Marymount Place also is in outbreak mode and more of its residents tend to be out and about throughout the facility.
Please follow PPE requirements at Villa St. Joseph as well. Signs are posted on each floor that indicate what PPE should be worn when in patient rooms and when in common areas.
Do your part in the fight against COVID. Get vaccinated and be diligent in wearing a mask, washing your hands, and watching your distance as you’re among others. We all need to do our part to keep the residents – and each other – safe from COVID. Thank you!
