We did additional testing on August 26, 2021, and are awaiting results. I will provide an update as soon as possible with more information regarding visitation. As a reminder, compassion care visits are always available. If you are interested in a visit, then please reach out to the unit manager on the floor your loved one is on — or directly to me at 216-332-1100.

Our COVID updatesince March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 1 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 100resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 1 case. MarymountPlace has no Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 11resident/staff cases.

Nursing home residents and staff are scheduled to be among the first individuals to receive the COVID booster shot next month. That said, I’m being asked when the public can expect to receive the booster shot.

According to the CDC, the answer is not immediately. The goal is for people to start receiving the booster shot beginning in the fall, with individuals being eligible starting 8 months after they received their second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

Some additional important news. We need to conduct a flushing of our water system.  This is scheduled for August 27, 2021, and will take effect on the Villa St Joseph building.  The water will be turned off for about 6 to 8 hours. We have plans in place for water for toilet flushing, bottled water for drinking and bathing in the interim. I just wanted to make you are aware should your loved one mention the water is off.  If you have any questions, then please let me know.

I’ll continue to take this opportunity to remind all of you to practice the “three W’s” … wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.

News surrounding COVID seems to change daily. I will do my best to keep you updated as new details unfold. Here’s hoping we can see you all sometime next week.

Thank you for your continued patience. We’re doing all we can to keep your loved ones safe, happy, and healthy.
