Hello Village at Marymount Family, and Friends. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had another unvaccinated person test COVID positive yesterday. This person was in a non-clinical department. This group rarely leaves their department location and has very little, if any contact with residents.
I will be speaking with the health department regarding how long visitation will need to be limited, especially since this case IS NOT in a resident care area. Stay tuned for additional updates.
In the meantime, Villa St. Joseph remains in outbreak mode. No visitations are permitted, apart from compassion care visits.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 3 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 100 resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has no Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 1 case. Marymount Place has no Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 11 resident/staff cases.
The double-edge sword of COVID continues to challenge us in our daily lives. Several months ago, the government and the state rolled back mask-wearing. With the rise of the delta variant, I understand no one wants to return to wearing a mask. But it’s important that we all remain on high alert in the fight against COVID.
Remember the “three W’s” … wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. I’ll add “get vaccinated” as a fourth key part of curbing, and ultimately defeating, COVID.
Health officials are expected to recommend COVID-19 vaccine boosters for all Americans, regardless of age, 8 months after they received their second vaccine dose. This could happen as early as the Fall. I’ll keep you updated on this issue. Thank you for your continued patience and prayers. Stay safe, everyone!
