Good afternoon, Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the executive director.

This morning’s COVID testing revealed 2 new positive cases.

Our COVID updatesince March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 11 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 198resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 14 cases. MarymountPlace has 3 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 34resident/staff cases.

I’d like to remind you that when visiting loved ones in our buildings, it is crucial that you are truthful when answering the COVID questions asked of you when you arrive. Please continue to sign in with the receptionist or supervisor.

You need to complete the sign-in accurately and include a contact phone number or you will not be able to visit. We must be able to get a hold of our visitors should they have an exposure while visiting.

If you have had an exposure to someone who is COVID positive, or think you had such an exposure, please do not visit. Remember, we must follow CMS guidelines regarding exposures and visitation requirements. We’re doing all we can to limit exposures to COVID from entering the buildings.

Villa St. Joseph and Marymount Place remain in outbreak mode. All staff must test weekly for COVID; once if you are up to date with vaccines and boosters and twice weekly if you have an exemption or are not current with vaccine status. All staff must sign in and screen for symptoms daily. They must continue to wear N95 masks and face shields when in the building.

The cases this past week signal a harsh reminder that the COVID pandemic is still present as Cuyahoga County remains at Orange level with substantial spread.

OK … enough COVID news. We have lots to be thankful for, including our STNAs and care attendants. We will celebrate them during June 16-22. Many STNAs are nominated to be Franciscan Spirit Award winners each month. We thank them for the competent, compassionate care they provide to our residents.

Enjoy the weekend responsibly! Mask up, wash hands, and watch your distance. Stay safe everyone!
