Hello Village at Marymount Family, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.
We had a staff member on our Clare Hall unit test positive for COVID this morning. The good news is that this person has not worked at Villa St. Joseph in several days, so we don’t think it is much risk to our residents. We did test the residents and staff yesterday [that] the staff member would have come into contact with on the last day worked. All were negative.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 1 Active resident and staff Cases. We had a total of 269 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident and Staff cases and a cumulative total of 22 cases. Marymount Place has 0 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 62 resident/staff cases.
On February 21 our residents celebrated Fat Tuesday with paczki doughnuts and some Mardi Gras fun, courtesy of our Activities team. February 22 was Ash Wednesday, a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. It is commonly observed with ashes and fasting.
We’re also celebrating two very special employees who recently were selected as Franciscan Spirit Award winners. Lori Moskalski, a nurse in the Admissions Office, was chosen as the January 2023 honoree. Marymount Place housekeeper Michelle Romanello was named the February 2023 award winner. Both Lori and Michelle have the distinction of being two-time Spirit Award winners.
A reminder that COVID remains a threat despite the low number of cases reported in Northeast Ohio. Remember the 3Ws – wash and sanitize your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance in social settings. Have a good week everyone!
