Hello Village at Marymount Families, Friends, and Staff. This is Sue Nall the Executive Director.

We are closely monitoring Marymount Place residents and staff due to the recent COVID outbreak. Two more residents tested positive for COVID on Sunday while we were testing.

Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 0 Active staff and or Resident Cases. We had a total of 238 resident or staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 0 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 19 cases. Marymount Place has 8 Active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 50 resident/staff cases.

We are diligently contact tracing while following the new outbreak testing guidelines. All Marymount Place residents and staff, including those in dietary, nursing, therapy, housekeeping, maintenance, activities, and receptionists, were last tested on Sunday. They all will be tested every 48 hours through Thursday, and we will re-evaluate at that point.

Marymount Place staff must wear an N95 mask and face shield throughout the building. Full PPE (N95 mask, face shield, gown, and gloves) is required when working with a COVID resident. Marymount Place visitors must wear a mask in all areas of the building, including during visits.

At Villa St. Joseph, the COVID unit is open on Clare Hall. We don’t have any inhouse COVID cases, just admissions from Marymount Place and the area hospitals. Anyone entering or helping in that unit must be in full PPE. In the rest of the building, surgical masks are required for all vaccinated staff. A surgical mask and eyewear are required for those unvaccinated. Individuals identified as having an exposure, and/or who also work at MMP should be testing. Anyone with symptoms also should be testing.

Flu vaccines will be administered to residents this week and to staff next week.

Despite efforts to protect residents and staff from COVID, the reality is we expect more cases in the coming weeks. Wash and sanitize hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance.
