Today we had 2 additional COVID positive cases at Villa St. Joseph.
Our COVID update since March 2020: Villa St. Joseph has 37 Active Staff and Resident Cases. We have a total of 154 resident and staff cases. Memory Care Assisted Living at Villa St Joseph has 7 active Resident or Staff cases and a cumulative total of 9 cases. Marymount Place has 6 Active Resident or Staff cases — and a cumulative total of 29 resident/staff cases.
Today Ohio reported 19,750 new COVID cases, which is close to the one-day record of nearly 20,600 cases set on December 31. Ohio has reported at least 18,000 daily cases in each report for the past week. The total case count since early 2020 has climbed above 2.1 million.
A reminder about our current visitation policy for VSJ resident families. We ask only two people visit per day. We do not want visitors coming and going into the building. Once here, please stay for the duration of your visit. We are discouraging residents from leaving the facility for visits. Please see my updates on our website for the latest info regarding visits at VSJ and Marymount Place.
I’d like to applaud the work of our award-winning staff. They continue to be challenged by the pandemic. Yet each day they willingly accept the challenge to care for our residents. Many staff members, including those in our therapy department, have stepped up to assist in other areas as needed. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Kudos to housekeeper Linda Blackwell, who recently was named our 2021 Franciscan Spirit Award Winner of the Year. Linda is a long-term staff member and a worthy recipient of this award.
